Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
On 22 April, 2022, our students at Happy Hope School celebrated Earth Day with an inspiring hands-on project that combined creativity, sustainability, and meaningful action. As part of their Exit Point and learning reflection, students designed and built a turtle shelter using plastic waste, which they turned into eco-bricks. This was their way of showing care for marine life and taking real steps to reduce environmental harm.
The event became even more enriching through a special collaboration with local fashion brand Kamiidea. A guest speaker shared how discarded fabric from clothing production can be repurposed into strong, sustainable bricks—opening our students’ eyes to the power of innovation and responsible consumption.
Rooted in the belief of Tawhid, we reminded students that caring for the Earth is part of our duty as khalifah (stewards) on this planet. When we take action with sincerity for the sake of Allah, even small efforts become acts of worship.
Jazakumullah Khairan, our beloved students, for turning waste into something wonderful. May your actions continue to inspire and protect this Earth we are entrusted with.
Wassalamu’alakum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
