Batik and Beyond: A Day of Learning, Art, and Legacy

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Kartini once said, “After the darkness, there is light.”
On 21 April 2022, our students brought that light to life—through learning, creating, and celebrating the values of education, identity, and action. Kartini Day at Happy Hope School was more than a celebration; it was a lesson in meaning and legacy.

Dressed in beautiful traditional Indonesian attire, students were immersed in the richness of our cultural heritage. They explored the unique stories behind batik motifs, discovering how each pattern reflects the values. With joyful hands and curious minds, they then created their own batik artworks—some painted on fabric, while others crafted designs on pencil cases, blending tradition with creativity.

Grounded in the spirit of Tawhid, we reminded our learners that honoring one’s heritage, seeking knowledge, and expressing creativity can all be acts of worship—when done with sincere intention for the sake of Allah.

MashaAllah, your joyful participation turned a school day into a beautiful journey of culture, faith, and expression.

Wassalamu’alakum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
